FUNCTIONALITY

This addresses how your website will look and can conform to a theme ( with a consistent look on every page).

The website design includes the overall graphical look and layout of your website.  This includes the home (main) page layout, the sub page layout, and the structure and look of the navigation system. 

Interactive or static flash media and content graphics (header and body) are not part of the design map. 

This addresses what your website will do.  

This includes managing content, navigation bar (linear versus non-linear), payment gateway, access-controlled members only web section, ability to change website color scheme on the fly from the front-end, shopping carts / product catalogs, forms processing, maps and directions, instant feedback interactivity, streaming media, podcasting, etc . The types and level of functionality desired will determine the significant portion of the price.  Hence, communication on this part must be clearly conveyed and understood to avoid inaccurate expectations on both sides.

CONTENT

MAINTENANCE

This addresses what your website will say or is saying.  It includes text, images, pictures, flash intros, and mp3 sound for your home page, and the sub pages (as many as you have contracted to have developed).  The following will affect the price of the development as well:

• Flash media is a special content type that is priced separately and not included in the base price for webpage content.  Its pricing is also determined by the level of complexity and number desired.
• Content preparation – Client is responsible for supplying the content in desired electronic format.  This also includes all the graphic/images and audio and video files desired to be used on the website.  Developer will be willing to create and/or modify these content for suitability of use on the website for an agreed upon fee.  We can and will create business logos for client if so desired otherwise we will use content as provided without change unless where it is necessary to fit within approved layout.

This addresses how content will be updated and who will be responsible for making them.  Developer will maintain the website for currency for a monthly fee.  An agreed upon frequency of monthly updates for the fee will be in effect and any additional updates deemed necessary will incur additional modest fee.  To keep this fee low, we will train client or their representative on how to add/delete content from the website without intervention of the developer.  However, there are some content which involves structural changes that will have to be performed by the developer.
